Following on from a symposium organized by Contredanse, this dossier retraces the life and work of artist-researcher Rudolf Laban, and looks at current developments in choreological analysis, the keys to reading the movement script invented by Laban, the state of transmission of his teaching and the importance of Laban’s principles in the training of dancers and actors.
