Documentation Centre

The Dance Documentation Centre was established by Contredanse in 1989 to create a repository of dance knowledge, support research, and challenge the archiving and transmission of dance. The collection of documents in its library, visual media library, specialty journals, photos, press clippings, programmes and other archived documents are available to the public for consultation purposes.

Hours & contact

Due to current health measures, the Documentation Centre opens its doors on Thursdays, by appointment only.

Document collection

The Dance Documentation Centre collection includes large numbers of dance-related documents including books, specialized journals, press clippings, photos, audio-visual archives, conference proceedings, theses and other unpublished resources. The catalogue can be accessed online.

Documents are available on-site for consultation purposes only. However, photocopies may be requested.

Workshops

We offer tailor-made activities designed to help you learn about our extensive collection of documents. If you would like to make arrangements for a group visit, please make an appointment by calling us on 02 550 13 01 or sending an email to centrededoc@contredanse.org.
